EVO ICL is FDA-approved for adults 21 to 60 with nearsightedness from â3.00 to â20.00 D, astigmatism up to 4.00 D with the Toric lens, and a prescription that has been stable for at least a year. Your eye's internal dimensions also need to fit the lens, which we confirm at your consultation.
LASIK reshapes the cornea with a laser. ICL leaves the cornea intact and adds a lens inside the eye, behind the iris and in front of your natural lens.
The procedure is done under conscious sedation, so you're relaxed and comfortable, with numbing drops for the eye.
No. The lens sits inside the eye behind the iris, so unlike a contact lens it can't be felt and needs no daily care.
Yes. Because the lens is removable, it can be taken out if you need cataract surgery or another procedure in the future.
Financing is available through CareCredit, and FSA funds can be used. See financing options.
Like any eye surgery, ICL carries risks, including elevated eye pressure, cataract and the need to reposition or exchange the lens. Accurate sizing reduces some of these risks, and Dr. Benjamin reviews all of them with you before you decide.
