I've been using glasses for distance and near for at least 25 years. I loved glasses as an accessory, but I hated the fact that as a farsighted person I was dependent on them for routine tasks near or far. Watching TV, driving, exercising at the gym, swimming in the ocean where all a hassle with or without the glasses. Overall, I take care of myself, go to the gym, watch what I eat, and care about how I look, and those pesky reading glasses really began to cramp my style. When I mentioned this to my son, Arthur, he said: "Mom, I have the lasers right here in the office..."
I live in Miami and work full time with Arthur's father, Dr. Yukhanan Benjamin, so I couldn't take too much time from work. When Arthur's son Jonah was born we came to LA for the Brit. It was a busy time, but since the procedure is so quick and easy (literally 10 minutes), I had it done.
Results? Well, now I never need glasses for any activity. I never knew how much more enjoyable life can be without having to reach for the glasses. At first I kept looking for the glasses, but then got used to the fact that I can see everything without them. Our practice in Miami focuses on cosmetic and lifestyle medicine. My patients are amazed at how much younger I look now that I've gotten rid of those progressive glasses. Thank you son! I love my new vision and I love you.
