Astigmatism
A "normal" cornea is spherical, or like a baseball, whereas an astigmatic cornea is shaped more oblong, like a football. This abnormal curvature of the cornea causes light to focus on two different points on the back of your eye. This is because, like a football, and astigmatic cornea has a steeper curve and a flatter one. Because light rays do not achieve a single point of focus, patients can experience blurry vision, eye strain, or even headaches if your astigmatism is not addressed.
