I've always loved what I do, but it wasn't until I myself experienced the magic of LASIK at the age of 40, that I realized the apprehension, the anxiety, and eventually the joy of being an eye patient. Having been a "four eyes" since childhood and eventually experiencing LASIK gives me a perspective that's unique for an eye surgeon. I understand not only the clinician's, but also the patient's point of view when it comes to contemplating or undergoing eye treatment. Just like you, I realize how important vision is, and believe me, I had the same concerns and fears that you may have. I know what it's like to depend on glasses and to wear irritating contacts. I also know what it feels like to be under the laser and to hear the surgeon say "look at the blinking green light." But thankfully, I also know what a joy it is to get up from the laser and see the world the way it was meant to be seen, in vibrant High Definition.
Should you choose to become a patient at Benjamin Eye Institute, I make the following promises to you.
I promise that I will perform a careful, thorough examination. I will analyze such factors as your lifestyle, your visual demands, hobbies, ocular and general health before recommending a course of action. I promise that I will spend all the time needed to answer your questions and alleviate any apprehension. I will spare no effort in honing my surgical skills and expanding my fund of knowledge. I will spare no expense in making sure that only the best technology is available for diagnosis and treatment. I will have only the best people on my staff helping me take care of you.
I know there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all approach to vision and ocular health. Many visual or ocular problems may be addressed in a number of ways.
Helping patients choose the correct path is both an art and science.
Achieving the best eye health and quality of life for our patients is our ultimate goal.
